Summer in North Wales provides visitors with so many opportunities to get out and experience a range of incredible festivals and events. You’ll be sure to make memories to last a lifetime, whether you’re enjoying comedy acts under the shade of a forest canopy or sampling locally produced craft beers and artisan foods at a county show. We’re lucky to live in a part of the world that really has such a diverse culture, that we really have something to offer everyone.
So, if you’re planning your itinerary for a summertime visit to the area, here are three of the best summer events that are coming up to add to your schedule. All three are well within an hours drive from the Paddocks Lodge Park and benefit from great transport links as well as park and ride facilities.
Anglesey County Show – Mona Showground, 15th-16th August
The largest two-day agricultural show in the country, the Anglesey County Show this year takes place on August 15th-16th at the Mona Showground in Gwalchmai, Holyhead.
About 55,000 people are expected to attend – making it as big an event as the Eisteddfod – and the humans present will be accompanied by animals ranging from pigs and cattle to pigeons and rabbits.
Expect demonstrations of traditional country crafts too, such as cookery, horticulture and dry stone walling.
The Good Life Experience – Hawarden Estate, 15-17th September 2017
Founded by broadcaster, musician and writer Cerys Matthews, alongside arts consultant Steve Abbott and retailers, farmers and authors Charlie and Caroline Gladstone, The Good Life Experience is a weekend of fun and discovery with music, books, food and the great outdoors. Why not head over for a weekend spent enjoying the simpler things in life, at an event that is like no other in the UK.
With it’s beautiful farm setting, at the height of the harvest season, the festival features campfire cooking, mass sing-alongs, comedy, talks, poetry, literature, and of course, a whole host of contemporary music.
Everything is aimed at the whole family – with both adults and children invited to all performances and activities. And as in previous years, there will be no backstage or VIP areas – all performers will mingle with the guests.
Early bird tickets start from £77.50, but children 11 and under go for free. You can book online or call 01244 784122.
Gorjys Secrets Music Festival – Conwy Valley, 15-16th September
